All around Bergen, there are family events. Of course, the Christmas markets are open. I got my annual weisswurst from the German sausage stand! Today, I went to Gamle Bergen (Old Bergen) and had a chance to let my inner child free. In Gamle Bergen, the whole family can experience life in the "old days".

Dropping back a few days, the military Jazz Brass Band in
Håkonshallen was a perfect start for the season. The singer not only had a beautiful voice, but focused on the children, bringing them out of their seats.
Our main Christmas tree was lit on 16th November, but we went outside, to light the Håkonshallen Christmas tree by counting down all together. Oops! No lights. The second time did the charm. We sang "Du grønne glitrende tre" (You Green Glittering Tree), followed by one of my favorites, "Deilig er jorden" (Beautiful Is the Earth). Here is a translation to English by blogger Mark Hulsether: https://marksbloggingexperiment.wordpress.com/2021/08/07/deglig-er-jorden-beautiful-is-the-earth/ and here is a YouTube video of it:

Your "inner child" is always on display. That's why we adore you. j
