School clothes

The high school kids have uniforms. These are not your Catholic school plaid skirts! To my American eye, they look more like gangsta clothes than uniforms. They are bib overalls, with the bibs hanging down, and lots of graffiti on them. I presume some of the writing is the school name, but there are handprints, flags, and other unidentifiable stuff. The tops and shoes they wear with them don't have to match. If the kids were walking with an attitude, I'd worry, but they seem to be totally oblivious to the look.

Update 15 May - They are called russ (pronounced roose). They party hard all May in preparation for getting through with school. Finals are after the party. Here's a link to a pictorial history of russ and their russ busses.

The little kids that are out on field trips in the other picture, climbing on the Ole Bull fountain, have reflective safety vests on. Clever!
