Food festival

This weekend was Matfest - food festival. There were lots of booths selling organic or local foods.
This being Bergen, it was raining! Ed and I bought new umbrellas and joined the crowd.There were plenty of "tastes", including marinated salmon in juniper berries and dill, pepper cheese, wild garlic cheese, pumpkin soup, and scrumptious stew. We bought some of all those things, so we won't starve to death. ;)

There were also activities, like the kids' booth where they got paper chefs hats and made foil packet meals that were then cooked. There was a herring breakfast - which Ed and I skipped! And there was a chef's competition.

I watched several of them and learned a few things. When you wash the salad greens, you can put them into a dishtowel, hold the corners together, and whip it through the air to dry them. Well, we were outdoors, and it was raining anyway, so why not?
