Not much happening. Bergen is at 79 days with snow on the ground, and an increasingly serious water shortage. It's ironic that all that white stuff isn't filling the reservoirs. The museum with the silver exhibit is still closed. They must be renovating it. Yesterday, we took the bus out to Skjold, a little community south of here, to an exhibition that a friend of ours, Susan Hebden, put on. We enjoyed it.
Last weekend it was sunny. People were out in droves enjoying it.

Ed's new camera does a great job of night pictures. Last week, the wind died down and Haakon's Hall was reflecting in the fjord, backed by the blue night mountains.

We also used the recipe for Chili Verde from BowlingJoe's blog. It was great to get some heat in our food and tummies! At the Global Grocery down by the bus station, I even found a can of Chipotle Peppers. That thrilled Ed.
I hope the next posting has more travelogue for you! Until then, happy trails to you...

  1. Looks good, Pilla. Thanks for the plug. Glad you found chipotles, too. Here's to hoping it'll rain a bit and help with the water issues.

  2. Pilla, are you saying that Scandinavian food is...ummm...bland...and white...and tasteless...and salt & pepper constitutes "highly seasoned"?

As a Finn, I can tell you that it takes a great deal of skill to make almost all food taste alike!

On the other hand, the Scandinavians are adept at doing horrible things to fish that make them anything but tasteless. Try some Swedish Surstromming if you don't believe it. Buy the can that is bulging the most because that will be the "best".

  3. When Ed comes to visit Phoenix we'll plan to prepare some spicy foods. And it looks delicious, so we are planning to try Bowling Joe's Chili Verde too!
