Market Day and our wedding anniversary, June 12th

Saturday was our 38th anniversary. It was windy and blustery. Was it a sign? Naah!

Bergen had a fun event - Torgdagen. (Couldn't find an English link, but this one has pictures and a map.)That's where the ship people invade the town, show off their restored wooden boats, play accordian music and sing, wear old-fashioned clothes, have games for the kids, and cook traditional Norwegian food for sale. What a way to celebrate our anniversary!

The Lions International boat had a tank of cod.

It took a lot of shoveling and sweeping, but this puddle was history

Coffee, anyone?

A couple of the boats let us see the engine rooms. An engine from 1931, for instance. This one had openings on opposite sides of the engines so we could look over them at each other. How romantic!

Ed got to try bacalao, which is salted, dried cod stew. Surprise! It was quite good!

You couldn't ask for more accordions! They were everywhere.

Everyone got to dress up and everyone had fun.

We made it through another year together, and I am really glad to have married Ed. We've been a great match.
