Happy Halloween!

Our long-time friends know that Ed always wears a baseball uniform for Halloween. Here he is with his baseball jersey from Louisville, Kentucky and his new best friend, Z-Rod!
The first week of the big series against little c is done, and Ed came out very well. We got out of the hospital Saturday about noon, and he was so happy to be home. That first shower was wonderful! I see he has a bald stripe down the middle of his back, but that seems to be all. He is still eating well, especially ice cream. His left hip feels better. At breakfast, he noticed that he had curled his left leg onto his chair like he used to, without even thinking about it. We took a long walk to the emergency room this morning to get him a shot to stimulate his bone marrow, and he said he could take full strides again. WooHoo!

He loved having the laptop in the hospital room. He could follow the play-by-plays of the World Series games from 2 am to 5 am, he could write and receive e-mails, and he could follow the news. (I hope he does better at sleeping between 2 am and 5 am next month when he does this again.) Next is 2 weeks of daily radiation. It takes only about 15 minutes per session. He's VERY impressed with the machine. His spirits are still high. Keep smiling!
