Excursion to Bergen Farmers' Market

I was supposed to buy lamb sausage and lingonberry jam at the monthly farmers' market. Ingrid and I went together, she on the longest expedition since her bionic knee implant, and me to get out and enjoy the not-rainy day. It was cloudy, but the rain was not actively falling, so we counted it as good weather. Mighty few farmers braved the February weather to sell their wares. I found lingonberry jam, though, plus strawberry-rhubarb jam AND carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Ingrid was doing so well on her crutches, that we made it up and down the stairs to the meat bazaar to buy those lamb sausages that they didn't have at the farmers' market this month. We wandered up and down Shoemaker Street popping into boutiques, topping it off with an exciting visit to the coin shop. Okay, since Ed wasn't there, it wasn't all that exciting, but we had a good time talking to Jeff, who gave Ingrid some 500,000 and 250,000 notes from Turkey. She likes to give them in fancy cash envelopes to kids for presents, so they can say, "I got 500,000 for my christening/birthday/fill in the blank!" Ingrid made our excursion pain free. Great success!

Ed didn't get to join us because he has had a terrible week for mobility. His hip/back pain has dramatically increased, and his ability to stand or walk for any amount of time has dramatically decreased. We will be getting assertive Monday. We need to know what's going on here!
