Fevåg, near Trondheim. Some time with nature.

The ship arrived in Trondheim in the morning, where Siw met us at the dock. Siw is a colleague and friend of Cris'. We spent the day exploring Trondheim. We ate lunch at Ladekaia, where I had a "Melted American". How could I resist that name? It was a grilled cheese sandwich. Trondheim was decorated like a party, with overhead umbrellas and silk flowers in the sun.

Cris and Siw

Siw took us to her sister-in-law's cabin at Fevåg for a couple of days away from civilization. We took long walks around the area. An artist lives there and has created quirky art based on Norwegian stories. I loved the Three Billy Goats Gruff, the Knots or little fellows, water sprites, the stump with the saying, "Here I sit with my stump (rump) on my stump (bottom of a tree) and think."

We tried to skip rocks. Siw succeeded. We tried to throw stones into an anchor hole in a grounded barge. Siw succeeded. Siw created a flower crown from flowers along the side of the road. Basically, we 'lowered our shoulders' and relaxed. The cabin was a beautiful, modern house, but with no WiFi, providing a get-away from the normal distractions and beeps.

Thanks, Siw Tone!
