Starting Year Three of Living with Lung Cancer

Welcome to year three of living with lung cancer! I am happy to say that my lung tumor is stable. Yay!

But. You knew there was a but, didn't you? It has spread to my skull (not brain, hooray) and the spot in my spine is acting up. So I get to experience chemotherapy. It will be Carboplatin and Pemetrexed. It's not supposed to be as bad as other kinds as far as side effects. I don't go bald, for instance. It is once every three weeks, with scans on the second week after each to see how it's working. Fingers crossed!

We got lucky and got a sunny day right after the doctor told me to keep up my activity levels. So I rode up Floyen with lots of tourists. They were all posing for pictures and having a great time!

They've upgraded the restaurant, too, since the last time I was there. I used to celebrate walking up by buying a hot chocolate there. This time, I bought a mushroom sandwich... and hot chocolate. And sat facing the windows.

The oyster mushrooms were locally foraged.
The sandwich was topped with pickled vegetables for a little zing. Also local greens. Very nice!

I pushed myself to keep moving. I walked around the lake up there, Skomakerdiket. The water was a mirror, making it hard to pick the best picture.

Walking down was much harder than it used to be. There are lots of benches for resting on the way, though.

Enjoy every day!
